Frequently Asked Questions

The FAQs page is updated regularly so if you have a question about the Festival you should check this page first.

Please email info@thepyramidrockfestival.com  for any further enquiries. We will endeavour to get back to everyone but you will need to be patient. From mid September to December expect replies within a week. Expect replies to be speedier closer to the event.

Q. Where is The Pyramid Rock Festival?
A. The Pyramid Rock Festival brings in the New Year annually at a farm located on the south coast of Phillip Island, Victoria. Melways Reference: 531 J8

Q. Who will be performing at Pyramid Rock Festival this year?
A. Please stay tuned to Featuring page 2009 announcements. 1st round of acts will be announced 26th August 2009.

Q. When do tickets go on sale?
A. 9am Thursday September 3rd 2009. Tickets will be available from this website and selected outlets. Keep your eye on the Ticketing page for updates. Tickets sell out in no time so you’ll need to have your finger on the pulse if you don’t want to miss out. Please subscribe to the mailing list for all ticketing updates.

Q. When will the performance times/days of all the artists be released?
A. The days in which the bands are performing and times in which they are playing will be posted on this website closer to the event. Please subscribe to our mailing list to receive this news as soon as it becomes available.

Q. What kind of access will there be to the Festival site for drivers?
A. All patrons will need to check in with their vehicles through the main entry point located at Gate 1 on Back Beach Road. In 2009 the same speedy process that was introduced in 2006 will be used to check patrons and their vehicles into the event.

Since 2006 access to the festival site has been quick and painless and the event has been very successful in eliminating any long queuing or traffic jams. This has been achieved through acquiring additional land, which now acts as a processing area for cars before entering the venue. New internal roadways were constructed and Pyramid Rock Road is restricted to service vehicles and shuttle buses.

A limited capacity 'Early Arrivals Camping Ticket' will continue to give patrons the option of arriving a day before the event officially begins. This effectively reduces the volume of traffic on the main days of the Festival.

Q. What kind of items are NOT permitted at the Festival?
A.
For the sake of everyone's safety and enjoyment, there are certain items that you will not be permitted to bring into the venue under any circumstances. Property will be searched for alcohol, glass bottles, fireworks, flares, dangerous weapons, gas bottles and barbeques - please do NOT bring these items with you. Refer to the Terms and Conditions on the 'Tickets' page for the full list of no-nos.

Q. What is the submission process for artists wishing to perform at Pyramid Rock?
A.
We appreciate and receive a very high level of interest from bands all over the country and around the world! For this reason we may not be able to get responses back to everyone. Please do not send us any materials that you do not have a back up copy of, as we cannot return materials.

If you are an artist wishing to make a submission to play at Pyramid Rock Festival 2009 please email bands@thepyramidrockfestival.com or send demos/press kits to:

Pyramid Rock Festival
PO Box 256
Inverloch, Victoria, Australia

Unsolicited submissions close on Friday September 11, 2009.

Q. What is the submission process for Caterers and Market Stall holders wishing to trade at Pyramid Rock Festival?
A.
Providing you are fully insured and hold all the necessary health and safety accreditations for your business, please feel free to email us via info@thepyramidrockfestival.com The earlier the better.

Q. How do I apply for volunteer work at the event?
A. Volunteering can be a great way to experience the event. Volunteer applications have now closed for Pyramid 2009. Please check back here next year for details on applying to become a Pyramid volunteer.

Q. What time do we have to leave/when does the venue close?
A.
Due to permit conditions, we'll have to insist on patrons leaving the event site prior to 4pm on Friday 1st Jan 2010. Please ensure you take your campsite rubbish to one of the venue 'waste depots' on departure. There is a waste depot located at the exit point of the venue. Please use the garbage bags you were provided with by Festival staff. Fresh garbage bags can be collected at the waste depots located in Central Avenue.
If you have any doubts about whether you are fit to drive, please refrain from leaving the venue and seek advice from staff on site.
